Finding it hard to get a decent steak seasoning – I had the most amazing steak seasoned in Tora de rado in Amsterdam but I doubt they’re going to give me their recipe.

Pepper, salt and some mustard powder seem to be the options, I’m going to experiment as I can’t seem to find any in the stores or online.

Wind, hail, sun – all in one day.  That’s Britain’s millenium climate.

But wind it back to days gone by, the 70s and 80s were full of hot summers until around 86.  Then it all got wet.  And it’s been 4-wet, 1-dry for summers since.

This year we’re all doing our sun dance.  No hayfever thankyou.

Funnily I am thinking more about my past…when I lived in the city and used to be a ‘townie’.  I remember vividly my schooling from 8-10 in the city….in fact a girl called Roseline Q coined the phrase ‘the smokers down the lane’.

I did visit my old school earlier this year, and it was bizarre…just as I got there and walked the way I used to go home from school, some 25 years later….I ran into a dog who looked lost.  A guy in the flat came out too…the dog didn’t like him and was wary but loved me.  Maybe it was because I had just eaten lol, maybe not.  We called the owner and went on our way once the dog was safe.

Strange, for me to not go there for 25 years and when I do, I help a dog find it’s owner.  And the dog liked me….and not the other guy…..

Sometimes things happen for a reason.

I mean it was pretty horendous in it’s day…but what happened to it?  Why hasn’t it been revived like flares and 80s ware?

The 70s meant so much – riots, demonstrations, hippies.  What a wonderful time!

It’s that magic time when you’re just leaving school to go to University or college…where people around the age of 16 are experimenting with smoking cigarrettes down the lane.  A magic time, where the you’re leaving behind some people you’ve known since you were 5 years old in some instances.  On to new things, no stress just excitement.

Of course now when you look back on this, it’s a nostalgia trip you wish to re-encapsulate….and this is what this blog is about, a time gone by that can never be regained.
